Adeboye, who made the prophecies at the Cross Over Service at the Redemption Camp, further revealed that natural disasters will be on the increase due to what he called the ungodly laws passed by governments.
On his predictions for individuals, Pastor Adeboye said some families will trace the beginning of their generational blessings to this year, adding that some will obtain help from unexpected sources.
According to him, grateful hearts will have more causes to be grateful and that for many, the pendulum of life will generally be on the upward swing. He also revealed that a chosen few will receive blessings so large that they can hardly contain them.
On Nigeria, the renowned cleric said things are likely to get tougher before they get better but assured that things will get better before the end of the year, saying that what God started last year, He will finish this year, provided Nigerians don’t rejoice too soon.
Pastor Adeboye further revealed that the international scene will be plagued by terrible and devastating natural disasters, floods, fires and earthquakes until governments realise that these are part of divine judgements against those who pass ungodly laws.
“If government will repent of disdaining Christ and His Church, He will help them win the fight against terrorism; a major war will be averted this year and
a new sexually transmitted disease will surface this year”, he added.
Adeboye also announced a fasting programme that will commence January 11 and end on February 29.
In a related development, the Senior Prophet of Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua has predicted that Africa will experience
a crippling and unprecedented shortage of food.
“As a state, country, continent, we have to go back to the farm to arrest,to alleviate the forthcoming situation,” he said in the prophecy posted on the ministry’s official Facebook page.
“I encourage the governments of all nations to invest in agriculture and to grant loans to deserving citizens to augment this effort,” he said.
He went on: “Africa is supposed to be the bread basket of the world. We are supposed to produce a large quantum of food for the world. This is our natural resource base. Food should be our primary export to other continents, food in exchange for technology,” .
On the political scene, Prophet Joshua called on African leaders to “quickly arrest the political situation.”
He stated that the frequency of terrorist attacks in the continent would increase. “More African countries will be under siege by terrorists because of the flawed processes of choosing leaders. Mishandling of electoral processes will create a conducive atmosphere for terrorists.”
Joshua also revealed that people will stop investing in politics because of “limited resources and challenges”, adding that this would pave the way for those with genuine intentions to run for political office.
“When you are genuinely called to do the job, you will do it because of your love for it and not because of money,” he enthused.
“This year, do what you love. There’s money in love. Money in love brings peace and tranquility,” he counselled.
“President Muhammadu Buhari will do everything possible to reject the devaluation of the naira – which is a good idea from a good leader. But there will be overwhelming pressure which he will not be able to resist. Nigerians, support and pray for your leader. The future is crying for help,” he said.
The cleric, however, termed 2016 ‘The Year Of Reward’, stating that believers would be strengthened in the midst of their struggles.
“Start your year on your knees,” he advised, adding it was an ‘instruction from God’ for believers to begin and end their days in heartfelt prayer.
“What you were destined to become, this is the year to become it because this is the year of reward,” Prophet Joshua assured, adding:
“The voice of weeping, sorrow, setback and sickness shall be silenced, in the name of Jesus Christ”.
